I had to add this thought:

Instead of giving the banks 700 billion dollars, lets give it to each and every single American citizen out there. That would translate to about $400,000. each.

Than each of us could pay off our debts, homes credit cards and such giving those financial institutions the liquidity they need. In essence they still get bailed out but all of us get bailed out this way.
