OK another "this really pisses me off" post. 2 weeks back my daughter asked me to get her a PS2 at the flea market. So I found one. I asked five times if the thing worked and each time the seller said "oh yes"
Lying sack of shit!! Damn thing doesn't work at all! You know this type of crap should be considered the same as stealing. Maybe if these people faced serious trouble for their lies they wouldn't screw people.
I'm going back this weekend hoping they are there. See if they will refund my cash. If they are there and won't give my money back I'll have to up the ante as they say. I figure since neither hubby or wifey speak English its a good chance they are illegal. And if thats the case I'll turn them into ICE! ( immigration )
I did get to see comet P7/Holmes before it shrunk again. Pretty cool. I didn't want to mess with the big telescope so we just used the spotting scope.
With the Presidents X press man spilling his guts you think anyone will now stand up against the White House? I can't remember the actual charge but ratting on a covert person, undercover is a federal violation with a long prison sentence. Think any of the top 5 from Bush on down going see any of that time?

Happy Thanksgiving. I hope everyone enjoyed themselves. Than the big shopping day today. I actually was all stoked up about going out shopping. There were several items we had planned on getting. Wasn't real excited about the 5 in the morning deal though. Several places had laptops in the good deal range. Unfortunately there good deals were still above my good deal ideas. My neighbor however got her daughter one. Actually it was a random act of kindness. Another woman closer to the front grabbed 2 laptops and handed one to my neighbor who wasn't even in the right line. What a nice person. I knew they were still around.
Than my sister called me about their crazy early morning ( 4 AM ) shopping. She rambled off the list, 50 inch TV, Digital Cameras, Portable DVD players on and on and on. Than she struck a nerve. A new laptop. For who I said. Her significant other was the reply. Why? You guys just bought a nice $1200 2 years ago. She lost the power supply was the come back. Now I know it isn't right but my whole mood just sank to the bottom. She's out buying a new laptop cause it was to hard to hit up EBay for a $20 power supply. Meanwhile your's truly keeps his old 98-99 laptop limping along with tape and string.
I know I'm not suppose to be bothered by this, they are successful and can afford these things. It just caught me off guard. Needless to say I wasn't much into facing crowds or looking at over priced items I could never afford so I sent the girls out shopping on their own. Maybe later today I'll perk up.
So another Black Friday has come and gone.

For all you perverts out there I have bad news. We lost one of the snails. The desert has finally cooled down and the temperature in the house has dropped considerably. The water temp in the snails bowl also dropped. Friday we found one of the horny snails laying on its side. No manner of stimuli caused it to move. So my wife in her scientific way determined that it indeed was dead. After the autopsy I had no doubt in my mind that indeed it was dead.
Than yesterday, we noticed that the other horny beast was not responding either. However, after removing it from the water we did notice a slight movement so we set it in with the drifters and goober. ( we lost the last 2 Tetras yesterday ) Lucky for Mr/Ms. ( I have no clue how you sex a snail ) Snail we dropped him into the warmer waters because 15 minutes later he was crawling all over the place. Thats when my wife said " I hope the other snail was dead " Of course it was dead, especially after she ripped it out of its shell and ran her fingers through its innards. And if I had to testify in court, I never heard any screams of agonizing pain judge! Besides the President say's it's ok to torture.
Went to the flea market today. Wanted to pick up a few cheap things. Ended up buying my daughter a car for $700. Well actually she paid for it. Her first car.

Bush is going to help rebuild the Justice Department. Well now doesn't that make everyone feel real warm and fuzzy inside. I was afraid the Justice Department may have risk falling into a nasty habit of working independently of political parties. Sure glad that worked out. Once again, thank you Mr Bush. You know if this guy is such an idiot, and 2 cans short of a 6 pack. How has he managed to twist everything into his way of thinking?
Maybe we all need to think like him. " Honey, I just thwarted a terrorist attack, can we have sex now "?
As I suspected adding the air line to the aquarium came with a bad side effect. We now have green algae growing. We'll need to get rid of the algae and try adjusting the air flow. Also why on the fish, we spotted a black young baby fish in the tank this morning. No idea how it got there or who it belongs to but we have a new resident :)
Wonder if I should grow up?

One of the advantages of being poor on a fixed income is there are always things you want. Heck my list grows daily :) This morning I saw a 71 MG. Now I've wanted to fix up an MG since way back when. Heck I remember when you bought them new. Its just one of those things you carry around inside that you just sorta know that maybe, some day it will happen, But alas, it was not today. :(
I had a good friend in high school who committed suicide by MG. Ran under a semi trailer. Lost his head. Can't understand what he was thinking. Actually except for all the blood the car wasn't in that bad of shape after the accident. My sister in law had a Triumph for a while but it suffered from severe bad wiring.
The other side of the poor equation is you learn quickly to not be disappointed when your list grows. Plus, because my finances are probably not going to change much, I still believe a little in Santa. Plus I put a lot of belief in people.
Hey did you see the "Great Decider" now has his own "Veto Pen"? Wow, I guess he needed something new to play with since he shit all over the sandbox and made a real mess there.
The Wish Book arrived the other day. Little thinner than the old Sears Christmas catalogs we got when we were kids. Still my grandson enjoyed going through pointing out everything he wanted for Christmas. Shopping for him isn't that hard. Just sweep the boys isle into the cart. Actually, he's fixated on the Optimus Prime transformer for $40. I'm thinking his " things I want " list is going to grow a bit longer this year. Don't get me wrong here. This kid is not short in the toy department. In fact he probably has more toys than most kids. I think in my attempt not to allow him disappointment, and keep his list short I may have over done it. But most of his goodies came from the flea market so everything was like 10 cents on the dollar type stuff.
The old laptop still giving me grief. Some days it just doesn't fire up at all. In the mean time, it is hit or miss with the blog thing here.
The fish are liking the air line a lot! Hopefully I've hit on the right combination to keep them alive. Riley the dog and I have been going out early evening and running ( well he runs I roll ) about a mile to give him a bit of a work out. Its good for him. we found we can attach him to the back of my chair and run without him getting ran over by the chair. I can't go nearly as fast as he can run but we get going pretty well.
My fund raising for the all terrain wheelchair has not done very well. Out of the $10,000 for the chair and $1000 for shipping I have raised a total of $0. After a year I've given up on the church and all their promises.
I guess it will remain on my list a bit longer.............................

Christmas is coming. I figured this out about October 25th when our local Walmart started putting out the Christmas stuff mixed in with the Halloween stuff. I really wanted to get one of those animated Santa's and put a nasty Halloween mask on it to scare the little ones.
Finally after 26 years of marriage we had trick or treaters! Every year we would buy candy but our doorbell would never ring. Last year, we lived across the street from the school. Still not a boo from any small fry. But this year made up for it. From about 5 till almost 10 they showed up. Many I suspect from across the border. Had something to do with the English "trick or treat" followed with the Spanish "gracias". And the fading away voices of " what did you get "? in another language. Now I always thought we were going a bit far going to the higher end neighborhoods so the kids would get the " better " candy, but these folks have gone to another country! Now thats taking candy begging to another level.
We sold our Christmas tree a few months ago while having a garage sale. It was pretty cheap when we bought it. One of those "all inclusive" deals, lights, ornaments and tree all in one box. In the heat of garage sale mania I said " hey, lets sell the tree and get a new one " So we did, but new ones are a lot more than they were when we bought the last one. We may need to hit up somebody else's garage sale!

I think we are making real headway with the fish. There is now a small clear hose running into the tank and terminating under the pirate ship. This line feeds the air from the little air pump into the tank. We now have a steady stream of bubbles coming from the sunken ship.
Can fish be happy? Instead of spending most of their time ( I don't think time matters to fish ) at the surface of the tank sucking air, all the fish now just lazily swim around like fish are supposed to do. Pale Rider, one of the drifters no longer swims in circles at high speed. None of the fish are swimming as if " drunk " anymore. At this time it appears that we've found our solution. Of course, it cost us 11 fish to get to this point. Leaving 8 remaining.
Well I spent my morning looking over Craig's list, nothing exciting or affordable. Hopefully a positive advantage of the high price of gas will be the gas pigs will be sold really cheap.

Well I reported the McDonald's to the local Health Department and corporate offices. But as I kind of suspected, nothing else has been said. There is just to much money to be had to be concerned about the discomfort of one guy in a wheelchair.
Been trying to convince my wife to let me buy an old Jeep. Not that I've seen any affordable ones lately. My handicapped van has over 200,000 miles on it and like me last week it to spills fluids out of every orifice. We call it Big Red. Not because of its color. Its actually a nice neutral shade of gray. No red stands for Rolling Ecological Disaster. You can tell where we've parked. The van has the lift, controls seat, and raised roof that pushes the price sky high. And since we can't afford the $40 grand or better to replace it, we keep driving. My wife won't allow me to drive anymore. She is concerned the beast would brake down. With my luck it be in front of that McDonald's. :)
Anyways back to the Jeep thing. I've had Jeeps in my earlier years when I didn't use a power chair. I've had a couple CJ-7's that actually worked really well for me. I use to put the manual chair in the back and off I'd go. Because of the short wheel base I had no troubles with my limited neck movement. I also had a Cherokee at one time with an external lift that my power chair road on in the back. It worked well but the distance from back wheels to weight of chair over loaded the rear springs to much. We compensated with air shocks in the rear but they leaked to much. Plus someone stoled the lift! So now I'm thinking short wheelbase of a CJ or Sahara combined with external lift would release me from my prison and allow me freedom to come and go. To regain some independence once again.
Now if I can just talk the local dealer into a dollar a month.............

Sorry been down with the flu last few days. Than yesterday I'm feeling better so we go out and get something to eat at McDonald's. Big mistake. I got food poisoning! Chicken ( I don't even like chicken ) wrap was bad! I had uncontrollable fluids spewing from both ends all night.
Interesting I called the McDonald's spoke with the manager who said: " I'll give you a free meal anything on the menu " Like as I'm puking into the garbage can did she really think I really wanted to eat there again?
The fish are still acting weird. Goober ate a couple more of the little zebras. I'm not sure whats going on. Last night, all the fish were picking on goober. Seemed like maybe his days were over. He wasn't responding very well or defending himself. Than this morning he's all perky. Very strange. Pale Rider seems to have totally lost what ever brain he had and swims in high speed circles. When not swimming in circles he seems to struggle trying to swim straight up and down. 2-tone just seems to suck air on the surface. Not sure what the deal is.
We've decided that the gold fish need to go. We've got a friend with a pond we'll donate to. Leaving 4 zebras and goober. If goober finishes off the zebras than he'll be joining the goldfish and will start fresh. I picked up an air pump and tubing. I've long suspected that the oxegen level in the water was to low so I've decided to modify the tank slightly. This is a small 5 gallon octogon tank. No air was being added except through the filter.
