Well I reported the McDonald's to the local Health Department and corporate offices. But as I kind of suspected, nothing else has been said. There is just to much money to be had to be concerned about the discomfort of one guy in a wheelchair.

Been trying to convince my wife to let me buy an old Jeep. Not that I've seen any affordable ones lately. My handicapped van has over 200,000 miles on it and like me last week it to spills fluids out of every orifice. We call it Big Red. Not because of its color. Its actually a nice neutral shade of gray. No red stands for Rolling Ecological Disaster. You can tell where we've parked. The van has the lift, controls seat, and raised roof that pushes the price sky high. And since we can't afford the $40 grand or better to replace it, we keep driving. My wife won't allow me to drive anymore. She is concerned the beast would brake down. With my luck it be in front of that McDonald's. :)

Anyways back to the Jeep thing. I've had Jeeps in my earlier years when I didn't use a power chair. I've had a couple CJ-7's that actually worked really well for me. I use to put the manual chair in the back and off I'd go. Because of the short wheel base I had no troubles with my limited neck movement. I also had a Cherokee at one time with an external lift that my power chair road on in the back. It worked well but the distance from back wheels to weight of chair over loaded the rear springs to much. We compensated with air shocks in the rear but they leaked to much. Plus someone stoled the lift! So now I'm thinking short wheelbase of a CJ or Sahara combined with external lift would release me from my prison and allow me freedom to come and go. To regain some independence once again.

Now if I can just talk the local dealer into a dollar a month.............
